Lymm Rushbearing: Revival of the Morris Dancers
Saturday last was wahat is known in Lymm as "Rushbearing Saturday". It used to be the custom for several local men, picturesquely dresses , to dance the Morris dance in the streets, but the custom was not observed during the war or since until last Saturday, when several young men from Statham turned out, under the leadership of Mr E Rowles as the Old Woman., and gave several dances.
