The [1889] Rushbearing Festival

This ancient festival was held at Lymm on Saturday...
In past years the festival was a great event in the annals of Lymm, but its glories seem to have departed, for now there is only a kind of "wakes" on a small scale, and a few troupes of "Morris Dancers" parade the village, and this year's festival passed off very quietly.
