Rushbearing and Rushcart
Despite the desire that exists in some quarters that the old custom of rushbearing should be stamped out, not withstanding the prohibition by the Local Board of any in the street or near the Cross, this festival will, we believe, take place as usual today (Saturday), and on Monday, though perhaps not on so large a scale as in former years...

...Last night the "rushcart" was on a fair way toward completion, and it is intended that the "round" shall be commenced this morning, the procession to be headed by the Lymm Brass Band.
